Monster Masquerade is an annual October event that runs from October 1st to October 31st. Two teams compete to see who is the most marvelous masquerader. The first time this event was held was on October 1st, 2016.
At the start of the event, members are given a short time period in which they can register for the event. Afterwards, they are given tasks that they must perform to tally up points for their team leader. Upon finishing the tasks, members are rewarded with mascot boxes from their respective team leaders. The team that secures the most points wins.
Whichever team wins the event will receive an exclusive AD where the mascots are fused. Members must participate in at least 4 tasks to win the final grand prize.
During the event, registration will close, and users who joined after September began will be unable to join a team.
Tasks[]
During Monster Masquerade, members of each team will have to participate in events for free mascot boxes, points for their team, and the grand prize. There are a set of tasks members must complete every year to earn points for their team. This is a list of previously used tasks, but by no means guarantees that any event will or will not appear in subsequent years.
In 2020, Cursed Coins were added as prizes for many tasks, which can be used to purchase items from the Baleful Boutique during the Masquerade.

Trivia[]
- 2018 was the first year the mascots did not have an easily visible tagline, this thanks to the new Bulletin Boards that were implemented that year which would automatically add the team users picked to their usernames when commenting on forums or Bulletin Boards. Taglines are considered now retired.
- 2018 was the first year mascots were voted for by members, before they were chosen by staff.
- Thanks to the MM Signups Goalings, sign-ups are no longer restricted by a short 2-3 hour time limit on a Google document but are instead hosted on site with a clickable link.
- 2020 was the year Baleful Bootique was introduced.
- 2021 was the only year when both mascots got 15 loot items (not counting their containers). Previously, mascots only had a maximum of 8 loot items, all of them being HA buddy items.
- 2021 was the first year when the Mascot Box contents were increased from 6 ADs to 10 ADs. The standard for Monster ADs has varied some years having usually 9 and on 2024 having 10 with two secret additions.
- The 2022 Monster Box contained 9 different ADs with the Doc Shock AD being the surprise AD of that year. The mascot boxes were lowered to 11 items per box with an increased drop rate for the ADs due to complaints staff got from players the previous year for having too many items, lowering the chances to obtain the mascots.
- The Cursed Coin bonus gained per event was increased from 2-3 to 5 per completed event.
- Mascot box prizes were increased from 3 to 5 per completed event.
- Some events also increased the points gained by completing them, such as the Nightmare Squad, which was raised from 10 points to 20 points.
- In 2022, The Haunted Artworks event got changed and had to feature you or any of your goatlings depicting a scene from that year's Haunted Palace. Previous years only required a drawing of either of the Mascots or any AD released during the Fall season.
- During 2023, the Haunted Palace event had each one of the frogs say a different word to form a complete sentence once all were found. It is unknown if this will be the new format of the game. That year the event also happened in a Dark Woods Carnival instead of a Palace like all the previous years.
- In 2023, the Team Stamps were introduced for the first time. Krisgoat mentioned in the official discord server that she plans to make the respective stamps for all the previous mascots and to sell them as official merchandise.
- In 2023, the infamous Mascot Tree Drops were changed to Mascot Restocks. The mascot boxes and donations by users to the mascots could be purchased from the their respective shops for 1 ss each. This change was made to avoid lag spikes as users would refresh the Giving Tree non-stop causing the entire site to crash.
- In 2024, Mascots for the first time since the event began didn't have neither a Team Badge/Stamp nor a Team motto. It was most likely omitted due to time constraints and will probably return in the future, though this hasn't been confirmed by staff.
- In 2024, the Mascot Tree Drops returned after one year, due to the mod that was behind the mascots accounts no longer being able to assist with the Mascot Restocks and the release of the new Giving Tree that same year. It's likely that the Mascot Tree Drops will become the norm in future Monster Masquerades.
- In 2024, the Haunted Camp event and the associated event, the Haunting Artworks event, was opened some days later than the main events[23]. That year, the story focused more on the mascots compared to previous years.
